Debra Tracey

 Debra Tracey Artist Statement

Born in Stockport, Debra moved to her spiritual home, Bollington, in 2011.
Having studied Illustration and Animation at MMU, She completed a post 16 PGCE and PG Dip PD in Inclusive Education.
Having worked in studios in Manchester and the Isle of Man, she finds her canalside studio in Bollington to be a perfect ‘creative space’ to teach and to make.
A member of BAMM, Debra has exhibited across the UK and the Isle of Man.
Excited by any creative medium, Debra finds herself immersed, mostly, in glass, “The way it catches the light as you slowly move past one of my pieces delights my senses”.

‘DON’T TOUCH’ was always the most disappointing of orders, barked at visitors to art galleries, particularly when faced with art simply begging to be touched. Debra’s mosaics vary drastically from smooth rounded cabouchons to sharp jagged glass smalti so it is a case of ‘Touch - BUT AT YOUR OWN RISK’

Debra loves to work in the abstract - creating a visual representation of a feeling or a word...colour and texture (and beauty of course!) is everything.

A mulit award winning Community Artist, Debra works extensively with schools and organisations, delivering quality creative therapy and art workshops.  Her passion for creating art and facilitating others to create art is apparent with unfailing enthusiasm for both.
