I have always enjoyed creating things and experimenting with different media and
I think I am still doing so, having no preferred medium. Recently I have been
enjoying mono printing and collage but I have also painted in acrylics, water
colour and pastels. Each medium holds its own quality and merits and I'm
constantly being challenged with learning new techniques.
I feel privileged to be a member of Bollington Art group, through this I have learned so much since becoming a member five years ago.
I trained as a teacher at St Martins college Lancaster, studying art as a second main subject.
I loved teaching art at primary level and promised myself that when I had more time I could devote myself to painting. Now I am retired I can fulfil my promise and I feel very fortunate.
I am interested in people and find drawing them a huge challenge. When working I try to convey atmosphere and feeling, hoping to reveal to the viewer something they have previously not noticed.
