Originally from Macclesfield, Janet studied Surface Pattern Design at
Stockport College before working in the textile industry for many years.
Janet is an active member of both Macclesfield and Bollington Art groups
and successfully exhibits at local shows. She enjoys capturing the beauty of
local surroundings. Most work is created using acrylics, gouache or soft

Les Fowler Artist Statement
I have been drawing and painting as a hobby from an early
age but have only been exhibiting and selling my work since 2006. I am currently
a member of both Bollington Art Group and the Society of Marple artists.
I mainly work with acrylics, mixed media or pastel,
depending on the subject matter, which tends to be either landscapes or portraits
(both animals and human).
To date, I have sold over 50 works, mainly in the U.K,
but also in the USA and Chile. Of these approx 20 have been commissioned
portraits of both people and pets, including a recent commission from the USA. My
recent landscapes have taken inspiration from some of the more contemporary
Scottish artists, as well as local artists like Rob Wilson, Sandra Orme, John
McCombs and Carole Baker but I am constantly exploring new techniques and

Angela Oswald Artist Statement
I have been intrigued all my life by botany and the way that plants grow in the wild and in my garden. This has taken me to paint flowers and foliage in a way, that, I believe, brings out their character and individuality. I admire precise botanical painting but my own work looks to put flowers and seed heads in a context drawn from the varied landscapes of Cheshire and Derbyshire. This lets me include the intricate patterns of hills and stone walls which are key features of our countryside.
I move back and forward between textile work and watercolours sometimes combining the two media.
I belong to the Bollington Art Group and also Threadmill Textile Group.
